Have you ever been somewhere that made you feel like home away from home. The first time I visited Tasmania, that is what I felt. I was happy.
My first visit was spent in North Western Tassie, in particular the Tamar Valley. Wine, cheese, food, and lavender, I really was in my element.
I finished this trip at a little BnB in Hagley. I found it by accident, a special rate on the internet made me book this place as we were travelling through the towns that we were keen to visit. Little did I know the effect it would have on me.
Quamby Estate, a 10 bedroom Homestead and the ancestral home of Tasmania's first-born Premier, Sir Richard Dry. Everything about this place had me in awe. The homestead was so lovingly restored, it had that old world charm and whisked me back into the past. I really felt like Lady of the Manor, Quamby had such a grandeur about it, while also being hospitable and homely, I didn't want to leave.
I've returned to that "little BnB" many times since then, and in 2017 married the love of my life in the homestead where we fell in love. Quamby Estate is certainly my happy place, and will always hold a special place in my heart,
